Privacy Policy
For the Website and Application of Golf Revolver, LLC
Last updated: May 1, 2026
I. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Golf Revolver, LLC (“Golf Revolver,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the website www.golfrevolver.com (the “Site”) and the Golf Revolver mobile application (the “App”). By using the Site or App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or App.
This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
II. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account or use the Site or App, we collect information you provide to us, which may include:
- Account information: email address and password (passwords are stored as cryptographic hashes, never as plain text).
- Profile information: display name or username, phone number (used for game invitations between players), handicap, and profile picture if you choose to upload one.
- Gameplay data: golf course selections, game type and settings, hole-by-hole scores, benefits and challenges earned during play, and other game state generated when you use the App.
- Friends and invitations: the email addresses or accounts of users you add as friends or invite to a game.
- User Content: any content you submit on leaderboards or otherwise share through the App, as described in Section IV of our Terms of Service.
- Communications: information you provide when you contact us for support or feedback.
b. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Site or App, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Device and technical information: device model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, advertising identifiers (such as Apple’s IDFA or Google’s Advertising ID, where available and where you have granted any required permissions), app version, language, time zone, and crash logs.
- Usage data: information about how you interact with the App, such as features used, screens viewed, time spent, and timestamps of actions.
- Push notification tokens: identifiers issued by Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) so we can deliver in-app notifications you have permitted.
- Log data: IP address and approximate location derived from it, which may be logged by our backend services for security and operational purposes.
- Cookies and similar technologies: when you visit the Site, we and our service providers may use cookies, web beacons, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, and measure usage. See Section V below for more on advertising and analytics.
c. Information from Third Parties
The App integrates third-party golf course data (for example, course names, hole layouts, and pars) from external course-information providers. When you search for or select a course, we may request that data on your behalf. We do not receive personal information about you from these providers.
III. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account and authenticate you;
- Operate the core gameplay features of the App, including scoring, course selection, friends, and invitations;
- Deliver push notifications and emails you have consented to receive (such as game invitations and friend requests);
- Compute handicap or game statistics solely for in-App use, as described in Section II of our Terms of Service;
- Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries;
- Monitor, analyze, and improve the Site and App, including diagnosing errors and crashes;
- Enforce our Terms of Service and protect the rights, property, and safety of Golf Revolver, our users, and the public; and
- Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
IV. How We Share Information
a. With Other Users
The App is collaborative by design. Information you contribute to a game — including your display name, profile picture, scores, handicap, and game-related actions — is visible to other Users participating in that game. If you invite another User as a friend or to a game, the recipient will see your name and email address.
b. With Service Providers
We share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the Site and App. These providers are contractually obligated to use information only as necessary to provide their services. Our principal service providers include:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, database (Firestore), file storage, push messaging, and serverless functions. See Firebase’s privacy disclosures.
- Apple Push Notification service (Apple Inc.) — delivery of iOS push notifications.
- Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — aggregation of crash and error reports for diagnostics. See Sentry’s privacy policy.
- Hosting and content-delivery providers — including Microsoft Azure, used to host the Site.
c. For Legal and Safety Reasons
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required or permitted by law, including to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process; to enforce our Terms of Service; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Golf Revolver, our users, or others; or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity, including but not limited to the Child Safety Standards described in Section VI of our Terms of Service.
d. Business Transfers
If Golf Revolver is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you (for example, via email and/or a prominent notice on the Site) of any change in ownership or use of your information, as well as any choices you may have.
e. With Your Consent
We may share information for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information or with your consent.
V. Advertising, Analytics, and Cookies
a. Current State
The App and Site are evolving products. We may use, and may in the future expand our use of, advertising and analytics technologies to support the Site and App, fund continued development, and deliver more relevant content. This section describes practices that may apply now or that we reserve the right to introduce later. We will continue to update this Privacy Policy as those practices change.
b. Analytics
We use analytics services (including services provided by our service providers identified in Section IV(b)) to understand how the Site and App are used, measure performance, diagnose issues, and improve features. These services may collect or process device identifiers, usage data, and other automatically-collected information described in Section II(b).
c. Advertising
We may permit third-party advertising partners, advertising networks, ad-measurement vendors, and attribution providers (collectively, “Advertising Partners”) to collect or receive certain information from the Site or App for the purposes of displaying advertising, measuring advertising performance, attributing installs or actions to a particular ad campaign, and helping advertisers reach interested audiences (including across other websites, apps, and devices). The information made available to Advertising Partners may include device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP address, general location, and information about your interactions with the Site or App.
This sharing of information may, depending on your jurisdiction, be considered “selling” or “sharing” of personal information for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising under certain U.S. state privacy laws (see Section VI). You have the right to opt out of such activity as described below.
d. Your Advertising Choices
- iOS: Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework requires apps to ask for your permission before tracking you across other companies’ apps and websites. You may also limit the use of your IDFA system-wide via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
- Android: You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads from Settings → Google → Ads on most Android devices.
- Web: Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Industry-wide opt-out tools are available through the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) and the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org). For users in the EEA, see youronlinechoices.eu.
- Do Not Track: We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because no consistent industry standard exists for honoring them. We do honor opt-out preference signals where required by applicable law, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC) for users in jurisdictions that recognize it.
VI. Notice for U.S. State Privacy Laws
Depending on the U.S. state in which you reside (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, and other states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws), you may have the right to:
- Know / access: confirm whether we process personal information about you and obtain a copy of that information;
- Correct: request that we correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete: request that we delete personal information we have collected about you;
- Portability: request a portable copy of your personal information;
- Opt out of sale or sharing: direct us not to “sell” or “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable state law (see Section V(c) above);
- Opt out of targeted advertising: direct us not to use your personal information for targeted advertising;
- Limit use of sensitive personal information: direct us to limit our use of sensitive personal information to purposes specified by applicable law;
- Non-discrimination: not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights; and
- Appeal: appeal a denial of any of these requests, where applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at help@golfrevolver.com with the subject line “Privacy Rights Request”. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to verification.
Categories of personal information collected and disclosed: in the preceding 12 months we have collected and, for operational purposes, disclosed to service providers the categories of personal information described in Section II of this Privacy Policy. To the extent any disclosure of identifiers, internet or other electronic activity information, or geolocation data to Advertising Partners constitutes a “sale” or “share” under your state’s law, you may opt out as described above. We do not knowingly “sell” or “share” the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
VII. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA, UK, and Switzerland Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing your personal information depend on the processing in question. They include:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Site and App you have requested (for example, to authenticate you, deliver gameplay features, and send transactional notifications).
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site and App; to prevent fraud and abuse; and to communicate with you about service-related matters, in each case where our interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent — for processing that requires consent under applicable law, such as the use of certain cookies, advertising identifiers, or other tracking technologies. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Compliance with legal obligations — where we are required to process your information by applicable law.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at help@golfrevolver.com.
International transfers: as described in Section XII, we may transfer your personal information outside the EEA, UK, or Switzerland (including to the United States). Where required, such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent UK and Swiss mechanisms, or your explicit consent.
VIII. Children’s Privacy
The Site and App are not intended for children under 13 years of age. The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) requires that online service providers obtain parental consent before they knowingly collect personally identifiable information online from children who are under 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a child under 13, please do not attempt to register on the App as a User or send any personal information about yourself to us. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that a child under 13 may have provided us personal information, please contact us at help@golfrevolver.com.
For information about how we address child safety more broadly, including reporting mechanisms and our zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), see Section VI of our Terms of Service.
IX. Your Choices and Rights
a. Account Information
You can review and update your profile information — including display name, phone number, handicap, and profile picture — at any time from within the App.
b. Push Notifications
You can enable or disable push notifications at any time using your device’s notification settings.
c. Email Communications
Transactional emails (such as game invitations, friend requests, and account-related notices) are part of the service and cannot be disabled while your account is active. If you no longer wish to receive these communications, you may delete your account.
d. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account at any time by emailing help@golfrevolver.com from the address associated with your account. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal information from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law, necessary to resolve disputes, or necessary to enforce our agreements.
e. Regional Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws — for example, the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at help@golfrevolver.com. We will respond within the time period required by applicable law.
X. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Site or App, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained longer where it can no longer reasonably be associated with you.
XI. Security
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we process, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest provided by our cloud providers, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
XII. International Users
The Site and App are operated from the United States and information we collect may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Site or App, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your own.
XIII. Third-Party Sites and Content
The Site or App may contain links to third-party websites, products, or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. See Section V of our Terms of Service regarding Third Party Content.
XIV. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, by posting a notice on the Site or via in-App notification). Your continued use of the Site or App after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
XV. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy and any dispute arising from it shall be governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, consistent with Section XVI of our Terms of Service.
XVI. Contact Information
Questions, requests, or concerns about this Privacy Policy should be sent to us at help@golfrevolver.com.
